Reading Time : 5 minutes
Haven’t been writing at all for the past few months, ever since MCO hit, everything has been a turbulent whirlwind all around. Initially, things was very well into the calmer side of things, the act of not going to office seemed great as you bypass literally all kinds of traffic, with a plus side of saving more money too! But probably all of this is just known as the calm before the storm, as when businesses all around are hit, the ripple effect comes by so strongly, many would not be left unscathed.
Maybe it was the rough undertakings of running a company in your house, you suddenly feel that the place you always confide to whenever its time to wind down at the end of the day, suddenly doesn’t work anymore. Your room’s table becomes your workdesk, and everyday its wake up, go to desk, do work, turn to the side and sleep. WHERE’S THE REAL REST OVER HERE?! The environment in which you work & rest apparently plays a very crucial role in human psychological wellbeing.
Time to moveout somewhere for a mini retreat! But where? It was this moment, saw a recommendation by fellow Zetpy taiko Adrian on Kechara Forest Retreat right under another taiko Christopher’s post in Facebook. Next thing you know, I’m here! So this will be a review of my experience of this place thus far.

A copy paste summary in a nutshell as follows from https://www.kecharaforestretreat.com/about-us/
“Kechara Forest Retreat (KFR) is built upon eons of Buddhist wisdom to bring about inner peace and harmony. Here, the practical teachings and logical solutions imparted by Buddha are taught via a pragmatic approach to help modern societies rise above the matrix of life in a Tibetan spiritual fashion. This secret to living is brought to life on a 35-acre land, nestled in an exurban forest within the quaint town of Bentong, Pahang.”
While I was browsing the website, that was when I saw the event “Inner-Peace-Retreat” with the tagline to that program 2D1N GETAWAY TO PEACE AND BALANCE!
Seriously at that time, the thought of going somewhere away from the city to focus on peace and balance sounds AMAZING, and it was something that I totally crave at that moment. Being stuck in the four walls for so long drowned in stress will really take a toll on you!
And look at this place!
Further Copy Pasted Details as Follows from https://www.kecharaforestretreat.com/event/inner-peace-retreat/2020-09-19/ :
The Inner Peace Retreat is a meditation and wellness programme packed with insights into how to live well by reducing your stress levels through meditative practices. Unwind and relax through meditation and contemplation exercises guided by experienced facilitators in beautiful and tranquil surroundings.
The programme includes:
I don’t know about you, but it TOTALLY SOUNDS AWESOMEEEEEEEE. I have reached an age where programs like these fascinates me till no end, even for me who has never done any meditation ever in his life!
Registering for the whole program was pretty straightforward, as I got the contact person from the website, Doreen. She guided and explained to me step by step everything regarding the program, and I eventually signed up the next day. They only run this program one month once, and after missing out the one in August, I decided to finally attend the one in September, which as of time of writing, it is right now.
In the next post, I will write about my experience finally arriving here!
