A Day in Digital Hang Zhou : What Does It Feel Like to Have Everything Controlled in 1 Mobile App?
Reading Time : 8 Minutes
In hang zhou, most things can be accessed by the alipay app
Our task on Saturday was rather fascinating as we had to complete a series of missions, all through using Alibaba’s Alipay mobile app. With this, the Hot.Pot group set out on an adventure in Hang Zhou!
The series of tasks that we had to fulfill was categorized into 3 major categories. Using the app to move around, to eat, and to shop. From here, we were tasked with various activities that involves using public transportation, buying foods from the market, and shopping.
What was amazing was the enablement of their transportation card (metro & bus) to be 100% digital! A few clicks within the app, and you have gotten yourself a local chinese Touch and Go card in your Alipay app. This is something I am definitely looking forward to see back in Malaysia.
Alibaba or WeChat did really well in encouraging people to adopt cashless payment systems in everyone’s daily life. The first things to tackle first would definitely be fundamental routines like food, transportation, and payment systems.
